6-2-15 Shopaholic Savers Update- We’re back!

button

It was almost a year ago today that I posted the last Shopaholic Savers update (see it here). I can’t believe how quickly time flies. Thank you to everyone who has continued to visit this site over the past year despite the lack of updates. I was finishing my master’s degree and there are only so many hours in the day. But now I have graduated!!!!! (That’s me on the right below with my best friend)

This post represents the first of many new articles that will be posted on this website from now forward! It also represents that start of my sister joining me in writing regularly for this website. She has written articles on here before (See Her Designer Goodwill Finds) but she was also trying to graduate with her Bachelor’s degree! That’s her below with her decorated cap and beautiful, real hair that I curled for her. Her cap says “I’m going on an adventure.”

So here are some of the crazy things that have happened in the past year that we are going to end up writing about for this sight-

– Candice got married and had a beautiful and also very frugal not so small wedding that we would love to tell you about (see How I got my David’s Bridal Bridesmaid Dress for $12.50 and you can too!)

– We both moved in the past years so we will be writing about How to move as inexpensively as possible

– As someone who used to manage apartments for a living I will also be writing about things renters can do to make sure they get their full deposits back

– We continue to thrift all the time so there will be more posts about that

– We have a huge commitment to living a chemical free lifestyle (sometimes it’s frugal, sometimes not so much) (Here is an old post on Natural, Organic, and Chemical Free Living Successes and Failures)

– I bought a new car after driving the above Cavalier for almost 10 years!

– We are starting to get more into DIY projects like the above cabinet so be on the lookout for more cool homemade projects (see the $2.99 cabinet project here)

And we have a lot more planned for this site, so stay tuned and check back for more exciting frugal living adventures!
