Stock Up on Foil This Week at Walgreens for .79¢

This week is a great time to stock up on foil at Walgreens for .79¢ for a 25 foot long roll. The above coupon is in the current Walgreens flyer (if you don’t have one you can always grab one in the front of the store). I try to buy several rolls when they do this sale which they do every few months. These deals will be good until Saturday 2/25.

Walgreens Deals to Start Your Own Garden

In the current Walgreens flyer (if you don’t have one you can always grab one in the front of the store) there are coupons for seeds for 5 for $1 (Limit 10 per transaction) and $.99 for a bag of soil. I was excited about the seeds deal because I really want to plant my own garden this year now that I have my own backyard. Living in Florida it is still cold occasionally so I’m waiting for the weather to get a little bit warmer  to start planting. These deals will be good until Saturday 2/25.

I Just Joined My Coke Rewards

I am going to start this by saying that I rarely drink soda! Someone I know saves these coke caps for me and I have A LOT of them. My mother told me about mycokerewards.com and I have been wanting to try it. Today I finally joined and started entering the codes to get rewards. We’ll see how it goes. I already have enough points to get some cool stuff. One thing I like is that you can get coupons for free coke products. If you drink coke products it might be a cool way for you to get free stuff too. Click HERE to check out the site. (This is not a referral link)

Note- I had a picture of a huge pile of coke caps that have been given to me and I was about to post it when I realized that I need to finish inputting them all first before I put the codes on the internet. 🙂

Frugal Words to Live By

“The philosopher Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’

Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.”

2-13-12 Winn-Dixie Free Got2b Products

I was excited about the $3 off got2b full size product coupon in the Red Plum inset in this week’s (2/12/12) Sunday paper because they were on sale for B1G1 Free at Winn-Dixie for $5.99 so I was able to get four for free. Even better there were got2b full size products on clearance so I was able to make a small overage on the last one in the picture. I believe the Winn-Dixie B1G1 sale is now over but you may still be able to find stuff on clearance. Apparently they are also free at Walgreens this week which should run through Sat. If they are out I suggest getting a raincheck.

In The Mail – $5 off of $30 Publix Coupon

I was very excited to find this $5 off of $30 Publix Coupon in my mailbox good until 2/29/12. It was tucked inside the Pennysaver mailer along with other weekly ads.  Keep Your eyes open because this type of coupon can save you a lot of money. When I go to Publix to buy my regular deals I try to get my total to the $30 requirement (before coupons and after B1G1 Free deals) while keeping my total after coupons as low as possible. If I am able to get my total to say $2 then I have $3 overage to spend on anything I need.

Note- I have also had really good luck lately with getting $5 off of a $50 purchase Catalina coupons at Winn-Dixie.

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

Great Thrift Shop Finds $1 DVD Player B1G1 TVs and More

I went Thrift Shopping with my Mom recently and we had some really great finds. Here are some of them below.

This DVD player with it’s remote was only $1!

These two TVs were marked $15 each but they were on sale for B1G1 Free. They even lowered the price to $10 for 2. I didn’t need 2 TVs but they wouldn’t sell me one for $5. So two TVs it was. I’m going to give away the 2nd one or yard sale it.

I got this box of books for $1. Some are for us to read and some are to sell/trade.

We also filled this bag for $2 with all sorts of random stuff including clothes and kitchen items.

I grew up thrift shopping with my mother and it has saved me thousands of dollars over the years. I love knowing that I am being eco-friendly by preventing useful things from ending up in landfills. I also love knowing that the money goes to the great causes such as Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army that run the shops.
