5-30-19 Rockledge Goodwill Outlet Bins Second Trip

I had so much fun during my first trip to the Rockledge Goodwill Outlet that I had to go back! It’s a little over an hour from my house. I ended up with 21 pairs including Gore-Tex, Toms, Nike, New Balance, Lucky Brand, Michael Kors, boc, Brahma, Sorel, Sam Edelman, etc. The shoes were $1.99 a pair and all clothes were $1.49 a pound. I spent about $70 total for everything but most of the clothes I bought for myself and family members. I have already made a profit off of the shoes that have already sold.

Update- 10 pairs of the above shoes have already sold on Poshmark for $20 to $50 a pair each and I am keeping the teal New Balance sneakers and brown strap sandals. I put the golf shoes in my yard sale pile because I only bought them for the shoe inserts and aftermarket shoe beds.

5-10-19 Rockledge Goodwill Outlet Bins First Trip

I’m always excited to try shopping at a new Goodwill Outlet. I’ve found that they vary greatly in how nice or shady they are. This one was especially nice. I spent $18 on everything below. The shoes were $1.99 a pair and not sold at $1.49 per pound like everything else. I only had about an hour but I could tell that it would be worth going back when I had more time to shop. My second trip was amazing and I will add the link here as soon as I post it.

Update- The minnetonka black and turquoise sandals already sold on Poshmark for $35.

4-6-19 Neighborhood Garage Sale Finds + One Thrift Shop

My nephew love Lightning McQueen and wanted the above suitcase for $70. I found it at the thrift shop in great shape for $4.

I found these 3 adorable Disney shirts for $1 each. I live by the mouse so it makes sense for me to experiment with selling Disney items. They are everywhere in central Florida.

The above sweaters were $1 or $2 each. I might keep the one in the center for the next women’s march.

Update- The Insta Glam sweater sold for $22 + Shipping on Poshmark.

The above items were $.50 each. The swimsuit is Victoria’s Secret.

Update- The $2 Hello Kitty sweater sold for $22 + Shipping on Poshmark.

The above Polo shirts were $1 each. B needed new work shirts. For that price I picked up some nice ones for him to try on.

All of the items below were less than $1 each mostly bundled so no exact price. The books are for my nephews. The Star Wars toys are for my office. The tide ToGo pen is for cleaning my thrifted items. I love Tide pens but they are normally really expensive.

I finally found a redline Hot Wheels car. They are very collectible and hard to find. I don’t know if this is a great one or not but I will bring it to someone who does.

The above shorts were $1 and the jeans were .50 cents and $2. I hear that ripped American Eagle jeans sell well so I’m experimenting.

3-30-19 Yard Sale Finds- Neighborhood Garage Sale in a Farm Community

I randomly ended up at a neighborhood sale in a farm community of half million dollar homes. Each house had 5 acres. I had a lot of great finds and I already listed them for sale on Poshmark.

G was my thrifting buddy for the day and he got very tired. We went to a sale in the neighborhood that was raising money for a cat rescue. They loved G and even sold me this dog bag that he fits in perfectly.

The above Lilly Pulitzer shorts were definitely my $3 find of the day. I listed them the day after I bought them and they already have 12 likers.

Update These shorts ended up having a slight mark on the back. I relisted with the flaw and they sold for $46.

The above ‘suit’ was $1 for both pieces which actually aren’t the same brand.

Update- The $1 Harley shirt on the left sold for $27 + Shipping on Poshmark.

The shoes and Harley Davidson tops were $1 each.

Update- The Born boots sold for $28 + Shipping on Poshmark. The sandals were damaged and ended up in the trash.

The above two black bags I am going to use as work bags. They were $1-2 each.

All of the items in the above picture were $3 each or less but most were $2 each.

This box of LEGOs was $1.

I also got some pet supplies for cheap.

11-16-18 Rummage Sale Finds – Lilly Pulitzer

I had way too much fun at a local Church rummage sale this weekend. I bought the above 4 Lilly Pulitzer items and the below Johnny Was tunic for around $3 each. These will all be listed on Poshmark soon.

Update- The green palm Lilly Pulitzer dress sold for $70+ shipping on Poshmark.

Update- The blue Lilly Pulitzer ruffle top above sold for $27 + shipping on Poshmark.

I also bought an assortment of dog stuff including the below outfits, doggie bags, god water bottle, harness and leash all for $3.

We had a lot of fun trying these dog items on the pets.

I also purchased the below Black House White Market and Cabi shirt for $3.50 and $2. These will likely also go on Poshmark but if not I could wear them to work.

I also couldn’t resist getting these two handmade snow people. I am replacing my glass Christmas decorations with items that the cat’s can’t break even if they throw them on the floor.

10-20-18 Rummage Sale Finds- $1 Coach Purses and .50 cent Shoes

I was very excited to get to go to one of my favorite rummage sales that a local church hosts twice a year. Purses were $1 each and I got 4 coach purses, 1 Dooney and Bourke and 1 other nice purse with roses. The largest coach purse turned out to be fake but I believe the rest are real.

Update- The above purse on the bottom left sold for $3 at our yard sale.

Update- The above purse sold for $3 at our yard sale because it wasn’t in great shape.

Update- The above purple purse sold for $3 at our yard sale because it wasn’t in great shape.

This purse was probably the best find of the day!

Update- The above pink Coach purse sold for $40+ shipping on Poshmark.

Shoes at the rummage sale were .50 cents each. The Born and Circus shoes should sell well on Poshmark.

This shark Vacuum was the most expensive thing I bought and it was $5. It works and should make life easier with all the little furry pets that live in our house.

I also scooped up a couple of stacks of free greeting cards. Cards can be sooooooo expensive so I stock up when free or cheap and my mom also raids my stash constantly.

I realize I didn’t get any pictures of the cute PJs that I got for my nephew. Clothes were .25 cents each. In the end I spent $12 for everything and I expect to earn back more than double that off of one Poshmark sale.

10-19-18 Thrift Finds and Neighborhood Garage Sale- $3.50 Kindles

I was already paying at the local thrift store when I happened to spot a stack of Kindles on a nearby shelf. I bought 3 of them. Two were $3.50 each and one was $10 with the case. One of them works already and I will have to see if I am going to be able to reset the other 2 or I will return them.

I bought this mega intense car seat for my nephew who lives out of state for when he visits so my sister doesn’t have to fly with a car seat. We will check for any recalls.

I got this plastic storage tub and a Play Station 4 game for $5 total at a yard sale. No pic of the game because B is already playing it.

These Toms shoes were $1 a pair. I need to get them listed on Poshmark ASAP. I think they will go for at least $30.

B bought this set of Dilbert toys for $2 they will also go on eBay.

Mom found this brand new set of flannel sheets at the thrift shop for $4.

You can’t see them very well in this crappy pic but I got a set of throw pillows for $2.

We picked up 2 more shower curtains for $2 each and a little travel sign for a Christmas gift for about $1.

I got the above really nice Liz Claiborne purse for $2 at a yard sale. It’s exactly what I was looking for as my laptop will fit in it and it will replace the purse I have with a broken zipper.

Both of the above bags are Neiman Marcus and were $1 each at a yard sale. Not sure yet if I will keep them or sell them.

We got this shark bite blanket for my nephew for around $1.

Almost all of the items in the above picture were from a free box at a church rummage sale. I did buy the book and a few small things but most were free.

A Few Frugal Things- A $20 Dress Form and New Laptop

We walked to a yard sale in our neighborhood and I bought the above pictured dress form for $20. It was covered in a lot of fall crap but underneath was an expensive and adjustable sewing dress form that I am using for my Poshmark/ Ebay sales pictures and will be able to use for my sewing projects as well. This dress form would have cost well over $100 to buy new.

Frugal Things

–  This week things really picked up at work at both of my main jobs. And then my laptop died. I don’t like having to rush through a decision about which laptop to buy but I didn’t have any choice and I think it turned out okay. It’s never frugal replacing a laptop but by ordering it on Amazon I saved $500 over purchasing one immediately at Best Buy, I didn’t go with the cheapest option because those laptops only seem to last a year or two, instead I got a slightly better one and hopefully it will last a little longer because I really don’t want to have to go through this process again. So far I love it!

– I was able to rent a laptop from work until my new laptop arrived

– We have been eating at home, mostly thanks to B who has been cooking

– We finally found a new dog groomer for the pup’s nails and glands, this is frugal because if he gets a clogged gland it’s very expensive and, frankly, it’s not worth the money saved to fight him for hours to do his nails at home

– We carpooled with friends to a Burger Battle from local restaurants, our tickets were half off through a deal B found and no gas expense either

– Our local thrift shop gets the Disney lost and found ever few months and I did some great Christmas shopping for very low prices

– B cut his own hair and my hair

– I wanted to order pizza for everyone for a work meeting and I was able to get work to pay for it so I didn’t have to. We ordered pizza from a locally owned place and it turned out great. They were willing to give us a similar deal to a chain place that is usually used whose owner has expressed beliefs that I cannot support even if the money isn’t coming from my pocket. Took home 2 leftover slices for a snack.

– My mother gave me a keyboard and shirt when I visited her so I didn’t have to buy the keyboard and she fed me dinner

– We are keeping our Cat Genie unplugged when we aren’t home so that we only run it when it needs to be run, saving us money

– Decided not to leave the house Sunday, this saves time and money and instead I got ahead at work

– I found B a new pair of running shoes at the thrift shop for $1. Shoes are usually outrageously expensive.

– Mom was having some eBay printing trouble and I was able to sort it out for her online and she was able to print her shipping labels at work.

– We visited my Mom to help with her printer and cell phone issues and it turned out to be a much cheaper trip then we thought. We thought we would have to buy her a new cell phone to get it to work as a WiFi hotspot (the only way she can get internet at her house) but they helped us at the store so we didn’t have to. Then we went to eat and I downloaded the Moe’s Ap and got her meal for free. Then we bought her printer ink and it was cheaper at Walmart than anywhere else. Then the $7.50 printer we got at the thrift store worked so she could return the $40 printer she purchased.

– I really need to get to Trader Joe’s for several of their harmful chemical free products but unfortunately have not made it. I’m making due without but I’m almost out of toothpaste so I will have to go soon. This is frugal because I’m using up every last drop of product I have

Not So Frugal

– Replacing a laptop is never cheap but I’m happy with the one above that I bought

– I bought a $10 in the box printer from the thrift shop for my mom who needs one but unfortunately it doesn’t work. We are going to return it. Unlike Goodwill, they only do returns on electronics which is fine.

Extra Income

– I have continued to earn some small online income

– My 2nd contract job has been renewed and I am happy for the extra income even though it means a lot more work for me, partnering with a friend who has the same contract to make things easier

– I have sold several things online that were listed over the summer

– I need to list more items for sale but I just haven’t had the time

– I did end up listing and selling the below rob that paid for the new dress form! It sold one day after listing.

9-18-18 Thrift Finds- Disney Lost and Found Items and More

My local thrift shop gets Disney lost and found items every few months. I never know exactly when they will be getting the stuff in (they don’t know either) so when I walked in last Thursday and the store was full of Disney stuff I had fun doing some early Christmas shopping for my family. At least one item has been left out of the pictures so that someone won’t glimpse their Christmas gift early! Of the items above, the most expensive were the R2D2 Mickey Mouse ears for $4 each.

My father has an electric litter box and accessories are expensive but I found some for him for a few dollars at the thrift shop. I also purchased some citronella candles for our hurricane supplies and some other random items.

I was able to buy some little things for the nephews, a Star Trek Enterprise ship for my office at the college, a couple of vintage Nestle coffee mugs and some really pretty reusable napkins.

I found the above baby Buddha, hand towels, Pedi Paws, fans, loafer, and bag of sand toys for $2 or less each. The fans are for Hurricane season, the V.S. blanket is either for a Christmas gift or to sell, and the bag of pool toys and snorkel are for the nephews and our next beach trip.

I also got lucky with some clothes and a blow up cruise ship and a light cover. I especially like the chameleon dress for teaching. The Victoria Secret bra is to sell on Poshmark because they sell well.

5-10-18 Thrift Finds- Armillary Sphere

I have wanted an armillary sphere for almost 8 years but they are so darn expensive! Today I found the above one at the thrift shop for $5!!!!

The stuff below is from a couple recent thrift trips! All clothes were less than $2.50, most $1 each.

I found a couple of cool books for my one year old nephew, a couple tiny stuffed animals for the puppy, a marble utensil holder for a dollar fifty, and a Yeti style coffee mug for a dollar!

This picture shows everything I bought to sell including a J crew suit jacket for $2, Hollister jeans for $2.50, two little girls Reeboks shirts, and a Nike Dri-FIT pair of shorts.

The Pug leggings are actually H&M brand and I also bought them to sell. The Star Wars shirt I am also going to list for sale but if it doesn’t sell I’m going to use the fabric for my Star Wars quilt. The dress and skirt I bought to wear to work for myself.

Update- The Pug leggings sold for $8+ shipping on Poshmark.

I got the little makeup mirror that lights up with the cord for about $2 and then I got the Buddhist sculptures for $2 each.
