It’s that time of year again- cold and flu season. Unfortunately, I’m sick! I’ve learned my lesson about waiting to go to the doctor and so as soon as I suspected that I had more than a cold I made an appointment and went. I was asking about discounts on prescriptions and the nurse told me that anyone who has a reoccurring prescription should visit the manufacturers website to see if they have a discount. I have a friend who was able to print a coupon for $10 off of her prescription each month. That’s a lot of money saved for a little bit of time.
Another way that I save on prescriptions is by always saving coupons for free gift cards with new or transferred prescriptions. You never know when you or someone near you will get sick and getting a gift card with a prescription is a silver lining in having to go to the pharmacy.
There is a really fantastic deal to get free Studio 35 Nail Polish Remover at Walgreens. These make fantastic filler items because the only coupon they require is the Walgreens coupon so they increase your item count and you can use more manufacture coupons. Also the cashier told us that there is no limit on the coupon so you can get more than two with one coupon.

My CVS shopping trip today wasn’t as successful as my Walgreens trip. There were 2 deals I really wanted to do, the nivea and the skinny cow. I was able to do the Nivea deal (we looovee that chapstick) and then I got a raincheck for the Skinny cow. I also received $8.50 ECBs (CVS dollars) for quarterly rewards. I will save the ECBs for next week because I really didn’t need anything else.

There are some companies that it can be beneficial to be on their mailing list. One of them is Victoria Secret. I was recently mailed a coupon for $10 off a purchase at their store which to me equals A FREE TEN DOLLAR GIFT CERTIFICATE! I picked out 3 for $5 hand sanitizer and 2 for $5 mints which is more than I would ever pay otherwise. My total was exactly $10 and after the coupon I didn’t even have to pay a cent. They handed me my receipt and I left the store with more stocking stuffers!

When I have some extra time, like during commercial for TV shows, I try to sign up for free things online. I love getting mail and free stuff, plus I end up with a lot of coupons I wouldn’t have otherwise.
Walgreens had a great deal on tape this week.I stocked up because I needed to buy tape to wrap presents. This isn’t the exact tape I would have bought but it will work just as well. I love it when I run out of something only to find it for FREE!
