Restaurant.com currently has a coupon code for 80% off of $25 Gift Certificates, making them $2! Use the coupon code BLOOM to get the deal. I tested the code and it works but make sure you use it fast because there is no telling when it will expire. Also be sure to read the restrictions on each gift card because it changes with each restaurant.

I am really excited to see that a really great but fairly expensive restaurant that we have been wanting to go back to is on this list!

I thought I was going to be too late to take advantage of this deal because I had the flu and did nothing for a week but today I found out it’s still going so I’m going to share. This is one of the oddest coupons I have ever seen because it has no brands required just free Milk when you buy any three breakfast items. Click here FREE Gallon of Milk when you buy any three breakfast items, Milk Mustache Campaign printable coupon to like them on facebook, fill out some quick questions, sign your life away (not really but this did require a little more info than usual) and you can print 1 coupon. Since I was already planning on buying milk and breakfast items this is an even better deal for me.

I hadn’t planned on going back to Walgreens this soon but my sister and I decided to go because she wanted to see if the Walgreens by my house had the organic hairspray on sale. We also wanted to try getting the free nail polish remover. Here are the deals we did-

12-30-11 Publix Trip

I got some really great deals at Publix during this trip. I spent around $6 and saved around $56. I almost never buy paper products; however these cups were so cheap I couldn’t resist. I’m thinking they will be nice to have the next time we have a party or get together. Right after the shopping trip, we went out of town for a few days which is why I wasn’t able to post it sooner. Why Rain Checks are Smart

For those of you who don’t know, a Rain Check is “an agreement for a merchant to provide to a customer an out-of-stock sale item at a later date. At grocery stores, if an item is on sale (offer) and the merchant has run out of the item, the customer may request a rain check in order that he/she may get the item at a later date at the sale price (Wikipedia).”

As couponers know, really good deals are often in high demand and we have all felt the disappointment of finding an empty shelf. It is very smart to get Rain Checks because they allow you to still purchase the item you intended to buy at a later date. Often the store will restock before your coupons expire but sometimes they will even extend the date that the store will accept expired coupons if you ask them to include it in the rain check.

Rain Checks are cool because many of them do not expire (always check). Unlike most sales that only last one week, this allows you to purchase the item when you actually need it.

How We Got a 46 inch Flat Screen TV for $149

Yesterday we had an extremely frugal day! Since we moved into our new house several months ago we have bought very little. My boyfriend and I both agreed that we wanted a flat screen TV but we also didn’t want to spend frivolously when we have other tube TVs in the house that work just fine.

When we moved into the new house and signed up for AT&T U-verse, which included a great introductory special, they unexpectedly gave us $150 in Visa gift cards just for signing up. I had also been saving $200 in Visa gift cards that I had received as a bonus from my old job.

Which TV to buy? We looked for months and decided that we were willing to each pay a little more out of pocket to get a better (aka bigger) TV. My boyfriend found the one we wanted at Best Buy online for $499. The downside was that we had to drive about a half an hour to get it from by where we used to live. The good thing was that even though it cost more in the store they price matched it for us to the cheaper online price.

On the way, I was able to stop at a book store that doesn’t have a branch by where we live and sell 3 books I no longer wanted from my huge library for $22 cash.

I was also able to redeem a couple of coupons for free items at stores in the Best Buy plaza that I had been holding onto since before we moved. We got a free caramel apple at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and we got a free gourmet cupcake at Sweet.

After getting back in town we went to the County Fair for the last night of fun, rides and shows. A close relative of mine is one of the managers so we were able to attend for free! We also got free ride bracelets. Yes, that is a picture of a tiger jumping through a flaming hoop! We brought the free candy apple with us to save on food cost and no one knew that we hadn’t purchased it there.

After the fair, we went to Target and met up with a relative who bought some of the cables we needed for the new TV with their employee discount. So we were even able to get the TV cables 15% off.

After that, we went home to play with and watch our new TV. For us it is a good investment because we love being at home watching movies and playing games. This TV allows us to connect our computers to the TV so that we can watch free streaming internet movies and TV shows on a large screen. It’s always more frugal to stay home than to go out so I feel that investing in your home is a great idea and luckily we love being at home. 🙂

Walgreens Cheap Baking Soda and Baking Powder

Today is the last day to take advantage of Walgreens Cheap Baking Soda and Baking Powder. The last page on their ad has a coupon that makes them .50¢ each which is good for baking ingredients. I am also told that there was a Clabber Girl coupon for the baking powder but I have been unable to find it.
