Moneymaker Deal on Sunlight Dish Soap at Publix

imageWe got paid to buy this Sunlight dish soap at Publix today. They were .59 cents each and I used $1 off printable coupons from HERE. The overage went towards the rest of our grocery purchases. I needed to buy dish soap today anyways so I was especially excited to get it for free. I love when you need something and then there is a deal to get it for FREE!

Just in case you were wondering I already used half of one to fill up a soap dispenser before I took the picture.

Save 20% at CVS This Week

image

On the cover of the CVS flyer that I got in my Sunday paper this week is a 20% off coupon good on all regularly priced items and it’s good for a week. This makes me wish I had waited to buy my new can opener so that I would have gotten 20% off.

4-12-13 Recent Thrift Shop Finds

imageI was able to go thrift shopping with my mother yesterday and we had some good luck at one of our favorite thrift shops. All of the clothes in the picture were either .25¢ or .50¢. This included a Gap suit jacket with pretty blue lining, a summer dress, leggings, a Danskin shirt, a workout DVD (.50 cents) and some other shirts. I’m probably most excited by the red portable cooler ($1.25) with two drink holders on top. It will be making a lot of trips to the beach with us this summer.

Recent Dollar Tree Finds- Garage Sale, Gardening and Kitchen Stuff

image

I love to go to Dollar Tree and look around. It’s fun to know that I can afford to buy anything in the store. Here are some of the things I found interesting from this trip.

1. Garage Sale Stuff- If you are planning on having a yard sale this summer Dollar Tree has you covered

image

2. Betty Crocker Kitchen Stuff- They have some really nice small kitchen gadgets all for $1

3. They have a lot of stuff for your garden if you are planning on planting a garden soon you might want to take a look. I especially liked the rectangular garden boxes because we rent and I want to be able to plant some vegetables anyways.

I Won $100 Publix Gift Card from the Publix Italian Days Sweepstakes!

imageI got a wonderful surprise yesterday when I opened my mail. I Won $100 Publix Gift Card from the Publix Italian Days Sweepstakes! I barely remember entering on the Publix website when I was printing coupons for the shopping trip HERE.

I’m not someone who enters a lot of Sweepstakes but this makes me think I should enter more. This will definitely help with our grocery budget next month! Yay!

4-8-13 CVS Shopping Trip

imageI stopped at CVS today to pick up some prescriptions and I decided to pick up a few things.

I used my coupons for FREE package of CVS store-brand Alcohol Prep Swabs- $2.59 value
They didn’t have the CVS brand but they were nice enough to give me this brand instead.

I also got Physicians Formula Concealer on Sale at CVS for .29¢.

The last thing I bought was this can opener which I believe was $12.99. Ours broke and we needed a new one. I wish that I had been e-mailed a CVS coupon for 20% off before I bought it but it expired yesterday. However, this was still a savings over all but the cheapest electric can openers (like the one that just broke) so I figured it was worth a try before we break down and buy an expensive one.

Physicians Formula Concealer on Sale at CVS for .29¢

imageThere are three different colors of Physicians Formula Concealer on Sale at CVS for .29¢. All Physicians Formula products that normally cost $6 or more are currently on sale for $6 off which makes these .29¢. If you’re lucky you also got the $1 off Physicians Formula product coupon in the 3/10 Smart Source coupon insert which will make these free. I didn’t get the coupon but this is still a great deal even without coupons.

Target Easter Clearance Marked 50% Off But Actually 75% Off

imageTarget Easter clearance at my local store is still marked 50% off but it’s actually 75% off now. It was pretty picked through but I did still find a few nice things that I will save for gifts for later this year. I’m not generally someone who goes out of their way to see after holiday clearance sales but if I happen to be in a store already I’ll take a look. Today, I got lucky! That and my mother works at Target and told me to go look 😉

4-6-13 Shopaholic Savers Weekend Update

shopsavelogo

So on this blog while I do write about small snippets of my personal life I don’t usually write about it a great deal. However, life has been really exciting for me lately and I want to share.

For those of you who don’t know me you should know that I graduated from college with a double major B.A. in 2010 with a 4.0 GPA and zero debt. After working full time for a horrible company, I had a period of unemployment before going back to waiting tables. Currently, I am about to go back to school for my Master’s degree.

I just found out that I have received a Graduate Teaching Assistantship which will allow me to teach class sections while I am in school in order to have my tuition covered and earn a living stipend. I also received a Dean’s fellowship to help me cover my expenses while in school. In addition, I applied for and received a summer mentoring fellowship from the university which will pay me to conduct a research study this summer before I start classes and teaching in the fall. My BF, who I refer to as B on this website has already started going back to school for Computer Science.

Here is what my schedule looks like in the next few months-

Summer Semester

– Summer Mentoring Fellowship to Conduct Tipping Research Study

– Taking a Class to Prepare to teach at a University

– Taking another online class to prepare to use the online teaching programs

– Working as a server a few days a week

– Running my online eBay/ Amazon business from home

– Running and Maintaining this website and hiring someone to revamp it visually (stay tuned this will be soon!)

Fall Semester-

– Starting taking Full time classes in the M.A. program

– Teaching two sections of a class

– Working as a server, maybe two days a week

– Running my online eBay/ Amazon business from home (if I have time)

– Running and Maintaining this website

So all I have to worry about is my part time job, running a website, running an online business, going back to school and teaching classes in addition to running a household and spending time with family and friends. Sleep is optional right? I think I can say that my plate is FULL! And I couldn’t be more excited!
