Shopaholic Savers Deals- Surprise Extra Register Reward Printing on Walgreens Zephyrhills Water Sale

So Zephyrhills 24 packs of water are on sale for $3.49 this week at Walgreens with $1 RRs. However, one of the employees at my local Walgreens was kind enough to inform me that they are in fact printing 2 separate $1 RR coupons. The second actually says Energizer batteries but all I bought in this purchase was the water. This made the water only $1.49 for the entire pack after RRs. I know in some areas the water goes by a different name so I can’t say this will work everywhere or for how long but it might be worth a shot especially if you were planning on buying it anyways.

So the deal is-

Buy 1 Bottled Water (Brand Determined by Your Local Ad) 24pk $3.49
Get Back (2) $1 Register Rewards (Instead of the Single $1 stated in the Ad)
Cost after Coupons- $1.49 Each

*Shopaholic Savers Deals* are unique deals that the owners of Shopaholic Savers personally come up with and that we have not seen on other sites. Other Bloggers are welcome to repost these deals as long as they also post a link back to us. To see more Shopaholic Savers Deals click the category in the column on the right.

Natural / Organic Deals- Unreal Candy Free After ECBs at CVS

Now I have never heard of Unreal Candy before today, but this week it is .75¢ and you will receive .75¢ ECBs back making it free after the ECBs. I noticed that these candies claim to be “Unjunked” healthier candy.  I can’t say that I am 100% sure that they are natural but they do claim to be healthier so I thought it worth writing about. There is a limit of 1 per card.

Getting Free Gift Cards with Prescriptions

I apologize for the lack of updates lately. I’ve been feeling under the weather and today I went to the doctor and found out I have strep throat. Not fun. However, being the frugal person that I am I tried to look on the bright side. I had to pay $14 for 2 prescriptions but I was lucky and had two $10 Target gift card with a new or transferred prescription coupons. You can get these in a variety of ways- their weekly ad, catalina coupons, or home mailers. I didn’t know that you can use more than one at the same time. I believe the limit is actually 4. So I actually made a $6 profit in gift cards. I am always on the look out for gift card with prescription coupons. You  never know when you will need one, no one plans on getting sick.

Lately, Walgreens has been giving out tons of coupons for free $25 dollar gift cards with transferred prescriptions. But I called and they are ONLY for transferred prescriptions which is why I went to target today. If you have to be sick you might as well get a free gift card (or two)!

7-10-12 Winn-Dixie Meat Stock Up Trip

So this isn’t a typical couponing shopping trip that I would post about but I figured that I would share anyways. Let’s talk about meat. It is easily the most expensive item on my grocery shopping trips and it is usually what I try to buy when I have decent moneymaker deals at Publix. But how can you save on meat not using coupons?

One thing I tried this year was buying an extra ham and turkey at Christmas time and freezing them. This actually was a really nice savings but not a lot of variety and I don’t have an extra freezer besides the small one attached to my fridge so it would be hard for me to buy more than 2 at a time.

To save money on meat I shop sales and recently I have been finding the best deals at my local Winn-Dixie. There are a lot of things that I find to be a lot more expensive at Winn-Dixie but generally not their meat department. They also have extremely good deals on meat that they put on clearance due to it being close to their sell by date. I freeze a lot of what I buy until I use it and we have never had a problem with any of their meat. The Winn-Dixie butcher himself told me he uses their clearance meat.

So on this trip I bought-

– 2 Packs of Sirloin Steaks

– 2 Packs of Chicken Breast Tenderloins

– 1 Pack of Pork Chops

– 1 Pack of Beef for pan frying (not sure what we will use this for yet)

– 1 pack of ground meat

I spent- $24.74 and saved at least $19 off of the regular Winn-Dixie prices and I’m sure it would have been a lot more than that at other stores. This meat should last us for the rest of the month and hopefully I won’t have to buy much if any more.

I actually wanted to pair my $1 off 2 Hormel coupons with their B1G1 sale but they were out of stock so I got a raincheck. We use a lot of canned chicken and this was a really good price at around $1 per can after the sale and coupons.

7-10-12 Publix Shopping Trip

So this shopping trip at Publix I needed to get quite a few things that I didn’t have coupons for so that definitely raised my out of pocket costs. To lower them I used a $5 off of $25 Save A Lot competitor coupon and a slight overage on the Bayer. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a sale and coupon on the energy drinks and get 4 for $5. My boyfriend uses them for work and if he buys them there they are $4 for 1. I won’t bore you with the regularly priced groceries but here are the coupon deals I did in this trip-

4 Bayer Asprins- $2.63 each (I believe regular price)
– Used 4 $3 off coupons
Cost after coupons- -.37 cents moneymaker on each

Note- If you are lucky enough to find the $2 off each peelie coupons on the product this is a moneymaker deal. Both of my local stores were sold out but .99 cents each was a good enough stock up deal for me

1 Four Pack of Rockstar Energy Drinks- On Sale $5.99
– Used $1 off Publix coupon from the Yellow Advantage Flyer
Cost after coupons- $4.99

– Used $5 off of $25 Save A Lot competitor coupon

Spent- 11.61

And now I realize that I can’t find my receipt anywhere. I always save receipts so I have no clue where it could be. But anyways, I spent ~$9 and I saved ~$60 so it was a good trip.

6-18-12 Publix, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS Couponing Day

I had so much fun today doing A LOT of couponing at 4 different stores. I wanted to take advantage of some of the really great deals going on right now. If you follow my blog you will see that there are often gaps between my couponing trips. It’s because I don’t spend my time couponing if I don’t think the deals are good enough or I don’t really need something. I don’t live in the land of double coupons so deals are a little harder to come by. So right now, since there are so many good deals out I want to stock up for later. The first Publix shopping trip was actually yesterday but I wanted to post them together because these deals can all be done this week. The rest of the couponing trips were today.

I’m really excited about this Walgreens trip. The store was dead and the cashier in the cosmetics department was really patient so I was able to do more transactions than I usually would. I keep taking advantage of cheap shampoo deals (see HERE and HERE to list a few!) because there were so few last year but now I think I might be set for a long time.

Filler Items-
– 2 Muffin Mix on clearance $.89
– 4 Candy Sticks $.25

Unfortunately this is a shopping trip that needs an explanation because as you know if you coupon at Walgreens they don’t make it easy on you. At Walgreens you can only use one manufacture coupon per item and their store Register Rewards (RRs) count as Manufacture coupons. Also they charge you tax on the pre-coupon amount so you pay more tax than at other stores. My initial intention with this shopping trip was to rotate the toothpaste deal with the shampoo deal so that I could use the RRs from the previous transaction for the next transaction (because you can’t use RRs for one deal to get more of the same deal). This did not work out as well as I had hoped because the $2 from the Shampoo did not fully cover the toothpaste + filler Item and the $2.50 from the toothpaste was higher than the $2 for the shampoo so I needed several filler items and that always raises your out of pocket costs. That being said, I still got 21 items including paper towels and toilet paper for around $11 and I’m happy with that.

Totals for 21 items in 9 transactions-
Spent- $11.02
Saved- $27.35

CVS Trip – 6/18/12

Spent- $5.11 total and Received $4 ECBs
Cost after coupons and ECBs- $1.11 or about ~.27¢ each
Saved- $16.50

Note- I used two different CVS cards to do this (mine and my bfs) because the limit is 2. Also, even though these items were cheap I can usually find better deals on toothpaste and deodorant but I am slowly switching my house over to Natural and Organic Products and I also love that they are fair trade. When I can’t find Natural or Organic I settle for cheap (lol).
